Owning a home when you are single

After graduating from college or after moving to a new city, few people ever think about home ownership when they are single. Instead it is more common to spend the disposable income on eating out, drinks, and rent.

Regardless of whether you may be a couple or single, home ownership should not be determined by your relationship status. Many single people become home owners because it makes sense to them.

A home for one can become a home for two when you meet the right person. So a home bought while single is more flexible than most people think.

In a different scenario, even if you and your significant other each own a studio apartment, you can always trade up by selling the two units and get a bigger home together.

It makes sense to start owning a home as early as possible even if you may be single at the moment.
